My first few weeks on Weight Watchers have been a bit of a roller coaster as I adapt to saying “no” to so many things:

Husband: “Another glass of wine, Love?” No.

Mother-In-Law: “Dessert? You must want dessert”. No. “Just a little bit. Come on, don’t deprived yourself.” No. “But I made it for you!” No. “You’ll have to take it home with you then” NO!

Kids: “Mummy, can you make us cookies?” No.

And here’s the tough one, Me: “I’m too tired to cook, let’s order pizza.”

So this is life. This is what they mean when they say to not call it a diet, but a lifestyle because you have to figure out how to say “yes” sometimes and not totally derail things.

Lifestyle changes don’t happen overnight and so I’ll be focusing on a few small goals:

  • track my food and drink intake using the WW app
  • restrict wine to weekends
  • drink a LOT of water!
  • synch my Fitbit with the WW app and aim for at least 8K steps a day, working up to 10K
